Asus Unveils New RoG and Prime Motherboards for X399 Platform of AMD’s Threadripper.


The entry of Threadripper marks the era of more cores, more fun. And more funs means more computing power. Power that is needed by heavy users, gamers, enthusiasts and prosumer. Featuring up to 16 cores and 32 threads, these TR4 needs a new motherboard and Asus is always ready to provide this. Armed with decades of experience, Asus refines all aspects and innovation of motherboard technology.

The X399 motherboards Asus RoG Zenith Extreme and Strix X399-E Gaming and Prime X399-A, will still include the features that Asus is known for with their motherboard products. It will still include one-touch intelligent overclocking, refined cooling control, advanced connectivity and of course, RGB lighting! Although they all share the same DNA, they still have their own unique characteristics that will suit the needs of consumers. RoG Zenith Extreme, the flagship of socket TR4 motherboard, stands halfway between the width of ATX and E-ATX. Packed with sweet features such as 10Gbps network, a rear I/O shield with 40mm fan inside to vent out hot air, SupremeFX S1220 code, just to name a few. While the RoG Strix X399-E Gaming for power with style rig and the Prime X399-A for that well rounded for that professional yet remarkably in terms of power.

1950x and 1920x

The first two Ryzen Threadripper CPUs will launch with 16-core 1950X and 12-core 1920x. It takes everything to a whole new level with more cores, more memory channels and more bandwith for graphics and storage. These two CPUs will have more appeals to power users, gamers, enthusiasts and prosumer. It is heavily oriented to multitasking that needs every power they can get for 3D rendering, video editing and gaming. With 128GB of DDR4 memory support, it lets the consumer do heavy multitasking indeed. There are a lot of features the X399 to begin with. Starting with PCI Express of having 64 individual lanes and 60 of it are available for graphic cards. It has eight USB 3.1 Gen 1 Ports.

It supports the same memory via 8 DIMM slot, and only has a three-way SLI and CrossFire, WiFi ready , with 3D printing mounts for a bit of customisation, and has SupremeFX 1220A audio for improved recording quality.

Prime X399-A is a more of professional solution that does away with some of the features of its ROG cousin but what’s important is that it is Threadripper ready!

All three motherboards will be available this August with price of ROG Zenith Extreme is at $550 or P 28,000 and the Strix X399-E Gaming will retail for $350 or P 17,800. No available price yet for Prime X399-A.
